Should I cut the flower stem off my orchid?
It’s generally a good idea to cut the flower stem off your orchid after its flowers wilt. Doing so will help to promote new growth and keep the plant healthy. Make sure to use sharp scissors or a knife, and sterilize them before cutting the stem. That being said, a flower spike that’s still green after its flowers fall off can grow offshoots, and more flowers, if you care for your orchid correctly.
