How do you repot an old orchid?

If your orchid is very old and has been in the same pot for many years, its roots may be growing in a tight circle and it may be difficult to remove it from the pot. If this is the case, squeeze its plastic pot to loosen them. With any roots coming out of the pot’s drainage holes, try to poke them back through if possible. If this is too difficult, cut the plastic pot away with sharp shears. With the orchid free, line a slightly bigger plastic pot with moss or bark and place the orchid on top; then, gently poke moss or bark into the holes between the roots.
