Can I grow an orchid in a vase?

No, you can’t. Orchids need well-draining potting mix and a pot with drainage holes, and a vase doesn’t provide that. Instead, your orchid will sit in water and rot. If you like, you can trim the orchid’s flower spike at its base and put that in a vase instead.
