Why are my orchid flowers dying before they open?

This is something called bud blast. It’s most commonly caused by sudden changes in temperature or humidity; but, it can also be a sign of too much direct sun, underwatering, or overwatering. If you suspect any of those causes, try to correct the problem and see if that helps. Some of the flowers may still bloom, or the orchid may produce an offshoot of its flower spike.
