Should orchid roots be exposed to light?

There’s nothing wrong with exposing orchid roots to light. They don’t photosynthesise, but it doesn’t harm the orchid at all for it to have roots outside of its pot. If anything, it’s good, because the roots are vital for gas exchange (breathing).
