How do you get an orchid to flower again?

If you want to get an orchid to flower again, you need to remove the top part of the old flower spike. Use sharp scissors to cut the stem just below a node; nodes are the bumps along the side of the spike. Alternatively, cut the flower spike away completely and a new spike may grow instead.
