Do you need to water an orchid more when it’s blooming?

Yes, you may need to water your orchid slightly more when it’s blooming because it will lose additional water through its flowers, and use extra water in creating new buds and flowers. However, you should still wait for your orchid’s mix to dry and roots to turn silvery instead of green before watering. Wrinkly flowers can be a sign that they’re old, not just lacking in water.
