Do orchids like sun?

Orchids produce energy through photosynthesis, so they do need sunlight to grow. However, too much direct sun can damage their leaves, so it’s important to find a balance. Orchids that live outdoors should be placed in an area with dappled sunlight, such as under a tree; ideally they should be kept indoors.
